Dear D,
I've fallen in love with Bali. No wonder Fidel was so keen to show me this beautiful island & the gentle Balinese. I booked our land arrangement with Shahidah Travel, which gave me the best deal. For $369 per person, we had 3 night stay at Grand Hyatt, daily buffet breakfast, 2 full days tour with lunch provided, transfer airport to hotel & vice versa. Nur, who attended to my requests, was very helpful.
It was a very good trip, no hiccups from the beginning to the end. It was amazing, everything that I wished for came true, just like magic. What I love most, is seeing Fidel in his relax mode. He switched off his handphone so no one from the office could call or sms him about work.
As I love taking photos of the scenery, he loves taking shots of his "friends" who live on the pond. We make it a ritual to always return to our room after breakfast to feed them bread which we took from the restaurants. Grand Hyatt at Nusa Dua is highly recommended, even by the tour guides there. Nusa Dua is the best vicinity to stay as it's quiet & the beach is private.
I like the t-shirts from Bali. They're very cheap, yet, of very good quality. The souvenirs are cheap. I found out that Matahari Mall at Kuta Square is a one stop shopping place that tourists must go. If you're not comfy with the art of bargaining, Matahari has loads of souvenirs at cheap price, too. The essential oils are so nicely bottled. The one thing I regret was not being able to taste the street food.
Jessica & Shen, a Singaporean couple whom we got to know during the 2 days tour agreed with us that Bali is a good destination for a short getaway. It's less than 3 hrs flight, the people are service orientated, it has beautiful sceneries. They intend to return to Bali.
